Makeup Monday >> Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No. 7 The Siren

Sorry for the long hiatus! I hope to keep the posts coming regularly again.
Today I'll be sharing my thoughts on the Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No.7 The Siren 210 eyeshadow palette. It may look intimidating at first but the colors are not as vibrant and loud as some other eyeshadows, making this palette very wearable.

First of all, let me just tell you that the packaging looks and feels so luxurious. The other Style Eye-Con No. 7 palettes are usually black but this one comes in white because it is limited edition I believe.
I love how all the Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con palettes come with a velvet pouch. It prevents it from getting dirty while traveling and makes it seem extra special.
Sleek and slim. Love the white. Secure button closure.
I also like how it comes with a divider so that the eyeshadow fallout doesn't get onto the mirror.

Like I mentioned before, the colors are not very pigmented - which can be a good or bad thing - depending on what you're looking for specifically. If you want great color payout I would not suggest you get this. But if you want to try wearing more colors in a subtle and wearable way then I would suggest this palette. The texture is very smooth and fine, it blends quite easily, and the shimmers/glitters do not appear chunky.
It literally looks like a paint palette. Fun colors perfect for summer. These colors will be great for creating Halloween looks.
What drew me to this palette were the unique colors - I don't have any reds or oranges and cobalt blues. The white and marigold shade are wonderful highlight shades. The red and copper shades can be used to create a warm smoky eye with some neutral browns. The sea foam and cobalt shade are great for lining your lower lash line. And the sea smoke color is great for creating a cool smokey eye look.
After swatching them on my arm, I could see the sheen finish more clearly. Each color has a somewhat pearl finish - but the copper and marigold colors had the most shimmering effect, and the sea smoke had tiny specs of glitter, which was delightfully surprising to me.
I also swatched some similar colors from Urban Decay so that you could see the vibrancy differences and color comparisons. Again, you can see that the Marc Jacob eyeshadows are less pigmented and shimmery - which makes them more wearable for an everyday look.

Overall, I really love this palette because it's so special and unique - none of my palettes are like this one at all. I am excited to play with this more and create some makeup looks so that you can see how they look on the eyes. If you want to start wearing color and you like higher end makeup then this would be a great addition to your collection!
