Food Friday >> CREAM

Quick post about why I think CREAM is overrated:
1. Long lines
2. Cookies were ok, ice cream was ok
3. Service was terrible
4. Mind was not blown

I would consider going again and maybe trying some other flavors but I would not wait more than 5 minutes.

Food Friday >> Waterbar

This is just going to be a quick post of why I think you should check out Waterbar:
1. $1 oysters from 11:30 am to 5:30pm
2. The $1 oysters are really good
3. View by the bay
4. Fries were good too
Order by the dozen!

I didn't try anything else because I just came here for the happy hour. Happy hour drinks were ok, small selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. It gets really busy around 5pm when people are getting off work.
Overall, just come here to get some fresh oysters then go on your merry way.

What's Up Wednesday >> Flower Crown Tutorial

I think flower crowns are so beautiful so I wanted to create one for myself! These are perfect for music festivals, tropical vacations, or just a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
What You Need
-Lots of fake flowers
-Hot glue gun
-Floral wire
-Wire cutters
-Floral tape
-Scissors
-Ribbon (optional)
(All materials can be purchased at your local craft store like Michaels, Jo-Anns, etc.)

Directions
1. Wrap the floral wire three times around the crown of your head. Start by centering the middle of the wire at the back of your head, then bring it to the front and twist, and wrap it around the back again, then twist and bring to the front again. Finally, secure the loose ends of the wires by wrapping it around the other two wires.
2. Next we want to make several clusters of flowers. To make one cluster, gather 3-4 small flowers and secure the stems with floral tape.
For extra hold, place a drop of glue at the end of the piece of tape. Be careful when working with a glue gun! (Tip: Have the glue gun resting on a piece of cardboard because the glue can drip and get all over the place)
3. Snip off the ends of the stems that are sticking out past the taped ends and secure the bottom of the stems by placing a drop of glue there.
4. You'll need about 10-12 clusters depending on how big your head is and depending on the size of the flowers. I'll be adding large blooms as well to my flower crown and those do not need to be in clusters. Lay out your flowers to make sure you have enough to cover the circumference of the crown.
5. Next you'll need to secure each cluster to the wire crown by again wrapping it with floral tape and securing it with a drop of glue at the end of the piece of tape.
6. It should start to look like this. I'm alternating between a large bloom and a cluster for more dimension.
7. There might be some sparse areas of the crown which you can fill in with the leaves from the stems of your fake flowers, just add a drop of glue.
8. You can cover the entire crown with flowers or you can leave about 3 inches uncovered like I did. Wrap the remaining exposed wire with floral tape and secure with glue.
9. Next, use the extra leaves to cover the back of the crown like so.
10. Then using a long piece of ribbon, tie it into a bow and secure it to the back of the crown with hot glue, and you're all done!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and have fun making your own flower crowns! I would love to see pictures!

Mani Monday >> Teal Ombre Nails Tutorial

I was inspired by the product packaging of a travel set by philosophy, so I wanted to create a simple spring nail look featuring mint and teal shades. It's really simple and just like my other ombre nail tutorials.
What You Need
-Nail file
-Base coat
-Mint nail polish
-Teal nail polish
-Turquoise polish
-White nail polish
-Top coat
-Makeup sponge

Directions
1. Prep your nails by filing down to your desired shape.
2. Apply one layer of base coat then let dry (I'm using the Essie Grow Stronger base coat).
3. Apply 1-2 coats of the teal nail polish on all your nails and 3-4 coats of white nail polish on the accent nail (I'm using China Glaze For Audrey and NYC French White Tip).
4. Make sure the white nail polish is completely dry before you proceed to the ombre steps.
5. Next, apply one horizontal layer of mint, teal, and turquoise nail polish on the makeup sponge (I'm using Sephora Hello Kitty Minty, China Glaze For Audrey, and Etude House #BL601). I like to keep the lightest shade on the bottom and the darkest on top.
6. Then carefully roll it over the accent nail a few times (keeping with horizontal motions,  DO NOT move vertically). The first initial layers will be quite thin and faint in color. And the nail polish will get all over your finger but just use a q-tip and nail polish remover to clean it up. Keep applying polish to the sponge and keep rolling it over the accent nail for about 3-5 times.
7. Lastly, apply your favorite top coat and you're done!
