What's Up Wednesday >> Skiing in Aspen

I went to Aspen a few weeks ago and wanted to share my experience with you all! The cabin we rented had a lovely breathtaking view -- and we got to build snowmen in the backyard!

We did our skiing+snowboarding activities at the Snowmass Ski Resort, which was only ten minutes from the cabin. Also, there is a bus that goes to the resort if you don't want to drive (PS the buses in Aspen are all free!) It was my first time skiing so obviously, I was excited+nervous all the way up the mountain.
Welcome!

The gondola made me a bit nauseous -- do not stand up and swing! Up up and away!

Since it was my first time skiing, I decided to take ski lessons! The beginner magic package includes an all-day lesson, ski+boot+helmet rental, and poles. Goggles had to be purchased separately and they're quite expensive to me (at least $50). The beginners also get to hangout in the beginner magic lounge with snacks, hot chocolate, and tea/coffee. I just stayed in the meadows the whole day because I was too scared to try out the other slopes; but my friends had a good time trying out the different slopes and some of them even trekked allll the way to the top where it was about 10,000 ft above ski level!

Overall it was an amazing experience! The staff were all very friendly and the ski/snowboard instructors were all very patient and understanding. Every time I saw a little boy or girl zip right past me I felt so embarrassed -- they are so good! I highly recommend this ski resort -- it was beautiful and everything I imagined. The snow was also very nice and soft -- I only fell two times -- I was more sore from using the poles than the actual fall. Can't wait for the next ski trip!
